The government had consolidated the area between Fu Tung Street and Cheung Tung Road for building a temporary market in Tung Chung. To expedite the delivery of the project, reference was made to the MiC construction of Skylight Market in Tin Shui Wai which was commissioned in December 2021. As the temporary market is close to the Tung Chung MTR station and the public transport interchange, its convenient location benefits more residents in the area. The temporary market is covered with a canopy, and each stall is equipped with air-conditioning. The 36 stalls are mainly selling fresh provisions such as fish, meat, vegetables and fruits.
