Trunk Road T2 and Cha Kwo Ling Tunnel is a Sub-sea TBM tunnel project for the construction of 2 tubes of 2-lane highways connecting the CKR and TKOLTT tunnel in Route 6. The TBM diameter is 14m and there will be 3 levels in the completed tunnel structure, namely Over Head Ventilation Duct (OHVD), Road level and Service Gallery (SG) level. The total length of the SG is 2.6km long in each tunnel tube for future maintenance and operation without hindering road level tunnel traffic.
The project is a pioneer in adopting MiMEP solution inside the SG level with prefabricated ceiling and wall modules along the 2.6km tunnel. Besides, robotics is adopted extensively for the implementation of MiMEP solution such as the Drilling Robot and the Jacking Table.
